Funeral services will be held at Bethel Assembly Church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday June 18, with Reverend Paul Matta officiating. Burial will follow at Albany Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Bethel Assembly Church from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday; Mr. Boren will be in state from 2:00 until end of visitation.
Dwyane was born June 27, 1953 in Stamford, Texas to Jesse D. “Newt” and Imogene Lewis Boren.
He attended school in Stamford where he was a Stamford High School graduate.
He married Mary Edwards in Carlsbad, New Mexico on July 23, 1973. They moved to Throckmorton, Texas where he was public works director for 13 years, they later moved to Van Horn, Texas where he was city manager for 2 years. They returned to Albany, Texas in 1998, where he became the FMT specialist for the Texas Rural Water Association from 1999-2013. He was also an auxiliary policeman for the Albany Police Department, and a member of the Bethel Assembly Church in Albany.
Dwyane is survived by Mary, his wife of 42 years; two daughters, Christi Ferguson of Albany, Courtney Boren and wife Mitzi of Baird; one brother, Michael Boren of Knox City; one sister Christine Davis and husband Sam of Knox City; four grandchildren; Bailey Ferguson, Taylor Ferguson, Bryson Stanton, and Grayson Stanton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Tammy Boren.
