On June 26, 1947 she married George Wiley "G.W." Hesselgrave at Coupeville. The made their first home at Sumas, Washington, but soon moved to Coupeville.
She was a Girl Scout leader and she served 22 years on the Coupeville school board. She was also a talented artist.
