Steven was a veteran of the United States Army and earned an M-16 Sharpshooter badge. He was employed with Marion Community Schools for over 20 years as Media Coordinator. He was also a proud and devoted deacon of Greater Second Baptist Church. He was passionate about spreading the Word of God to everyone he came in contact with. He was a constant encouragement to others. Steven was devoted to keeping his wife “Baby” happy and spending quality time with his family. Steven’s therapy was keeping his vehicles pristine. His life’s motto was, “We should be about loving one another.”
Survivors include his wife, Brenda; children, Steven Caldwell, Nashville, Tennessee, and Tausha Carroll, Marion; granddaughters, Imani, Emari, and Essence Carroll; siblings, Glenda M. Williams, Anderson, and Larry Chambers, Hammond; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Chambers, and brother-in-law, Pastor J.D. Williams.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Greater Second Baptist Church, 705 W. 26th St., Marion, IN. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Elders Robert Jones and Lloyd Majors officiating. Burial will take place on Monday
