Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the Moody Bible Institute or to WDLM.
Betty was born on August 6, 1924, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Fred W. and Olive Nolsch Wilkinson. She married Kenneth Barr on June 28, 1944, in Moline, and he preceded her in death on July 22, 1999. She worked as a machinist and in assembly for Buddy L. and later as a housekeeper for Homewood Manor Apartments.
Betty enjoyed embroidering and was an avid Cubs fan. She was a former member of First Evangelical Free Church in Moline and had been more recently attending Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island.
Survivors include her children, Jerry (Ellen) Barr, Moline, Terry (Jill) Barr, Westerville, OH, and Perry Barr, Hartford, WI; son-in-law, Glenn Rogerson, Moline; grandchildren, Matthew (Adrienne) Rogerson, Stephen (Christina) Rogerson, Jennifer (Eric) Ekstam, Jeannette (Jon) Smith, Jeremy (Becca) Barr, and Jake Barr; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Evan Granger, Moline.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Sharon Rogerson; 6 brothers, Eugene, Paul, Russell, Fred, Herb, and Tom; 5 sisters, Margerite Cooper, Charlotte Mishler, Mildred Wilkinson, Helen Koontz, and Kathryn Davis; sister-in-law, Dorothy Wilkinson.
