Daniel Greer, 23, was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Daniel will be remembered as a very exceptional person. He was the son of Tom and Susan Greer and Shawn Bargsley. Daniel was raised with seven siblings. He had five brothers; Austin, Alex, Stephen, Sam, Samuel, two sisters; Sara and Miranda. Daniel was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years. Daniel enjoyed his college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Daniel was able to manage the balancing act. He earned a degree in finance from Texas State University. He had also been recently accepted for graduate school in a two year program in business, pursuing a master's degree in accounting. Daniel enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were skydiving, scuba diving, downhill skier, and snowboarder. He was also a music lover and gardener. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others. Daniel was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. One of his favorites was his Australian Shepherds; Blue and Luna. He also had a collection of reptiles and his flock of chickens. Daniel passed away on February 13, 2016 at San Marcos, Texas, the result of a tragic accident. He was survived by his parents, Tom and Susan Greer and Shawn and Tim Bargsley; grandparents, Jim Greer and Ken & Terri O'Neill and Judie Miller; great-grandfather, Henry G. O'Neill of Pensacola, Florida and great-grandmother, Marie T. Hoff of Quinlan, Texas; siblings Austin, Alex, Stephen and Sam Greer, Samuel and Sara Hodges, Miranda Bargsley; aunts Shari and husband Randy Skinner, Kimberly and husband Rick Goad, and Karen Oldfield; uncle Greg Bargsley; cousins Crystal, Melanie, Shannon and Jack, Ian, Alex, Sydney & Addison; and especially his beloved Danielle Norwood. Services were held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, 22 February, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas. Daniel was laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas. Simply stated, Daniel was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Daniel leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Daniel Greer.
