In addition to her husband and parents, Louise was preceded in death by her siblings: Daisy Marshall D. Parker, Helen D. Caldwell, John M. Davenport, Jr., and William (Bill) S. Davenport.
Louise worked at American Trust Company (now Bank of America) before becoming a full-time homemaker. For more than 7 decades she sang in her church choirs - at Tenth Avenue Presbyterian Church (now Third Presbyterian) and then at Calvary Church. She attended Ladies’ Tuesday morning Bible study and worked in Food Service for Wednesday night suppers at Calvary even after celebrating her 100th birthday . She shared her knitted and crocheted items with friends and family with whom she quietly shared her faith by the life she lived.
Louise is survived by her two children: H. Allan Graham Jr. (Francine) of Kennesaw, GA, and Louise G. Sheyda (Dan) of Charlotte; a sister Elmore D. Livermon of Raleigh and 2 sisters-in-law: Carol Davenport of Matthews and Louise L. Graham of Mooresville; and 2 brothers-in-law: Rev.Dr. John Graham (Pat) of Houston, TX, and Marshall Graham (Becky) of Shreveport, LA. She has 5 grandchildren – Rebekah Howe (Dr. Richard) of Cumming, GA; Lt. Col. Tim Sheyda (Tiffiny) of Davie, FL; Rachel Sperring (Jeremy) of Lawrenceville, GA; Andrew K. Graham of Kennesaw , GA; Sheryl G. Linn (Robert) of Evensville, TN; 13 great-grandchildren – Austin S. Lee (Cameron), Elizabeth, Hayden, Luke, Kate, Ian, Gavin, and William Sheyda; Ashley, Emily, and James Sperring; Collin and Sophie Linn; and 2 great-great-granddaughters – Serenity and Haley.
Pallbearers for her funeral will be members of her family.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Brookdale Carriage Club Assisted Living for their loving care of their mother and grandmother for the past 2 years and to Novant Health Hospice for their gentle and tender care the final week of Louise’s life.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 17, from 6-7:30 PM at Calvary Church in the Rea Road room. Funeral will be at 11 AM, Saturday, June 18, in the Chapel of Calvary Church, 5800 Pineville-Matthews Road. Arrangements are in the Care of Heritage Funeral Home-Weddington Chapel.
