James was the son of Florencio C. de Baca and Isabel Garcia.

He married Louise Alice Gueria of Las Vegas, NM on July 4, 1941.

He was a World War II Veteran: Pvt. Service # 38014904.

He lost his life when he was killed in action at the Battle of the Bulge in Europe.

He is survived by wife, Las Vegas, NM; parents, Clayton, NM; 3 brothers: F.C., Jr., Plainview, TX; Nestor, Oakland, CA; Phillip, Santa Fe, NM and by 4 sisters: Mrs. Norman Libby, Rosebud, NM; Mrs. Sydney Farlow, Gardena, CA; Mrs. Kenneth E. In 1941, Officer C de Baca was drafted into the United States Army. He served as a lineman and was involved with the D-Day invasion of Europe. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Gallantry in action near St. Barhelmy, France in August of 1944. He was killed in action on December 12, 1944. He was survived by his wife.
