"Following an active career in business and nursing in Chicago and San Francisco, Miss Brockett returned here in 1937 to reside with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Brockett and her half-sister, Miss Lucia Brockett. Since 1938 Miss Brockett lived at the Emily Andrus Home. She was taken ill last Thanksgiving Day and had been in a nursing home until going to the hospital.
"Miss Brockett was born in Charlotte, a daughter of Lucius B. and Augusta (Munson) Brockett. After attending Oberlin College, she completed a nursing course in Chicago and joined the staff of the old Nichols Hospital here. She gave up nursing temporarily to open a tea room in San Francisco. She went back to Chicago with the Mary Crane Nursery at Hull House and later served as matron of the Little Wanderer Day Nursery in Chicago.
