Joseph Paul Laliberte, age 81 of Fairfield, passed away peacefully in Ludlowe Healthcare Center on Saturday, April 21, 2007. Born in Worcester, Mass., he was a resident of Bridgeport before moving to Fairfield 32 years ago. Paul graduated from Bullard Haven Technical School and proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. During his career as an electrician, Paul worked for Dictaphone, Bodine Corporation, American Fabrics, and retired from Peerless Foundry. A dedicated usher for Holy Family Church for many years, Paul was also a member of the Catholic War Veterans- Raymond Bower Post 1466. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, as well as doing little projects around his house. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Paul Laliberte of Milford and Patricia Tripoli and her husband, Alex, of Fairfield; one granddaughter, Trudy Burke and her husband, Thomas, of Maryland; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Caillin Burke; one sister-in-law, Julie Magdon of Fairfield; one brother-in-law, Harry Martin of Monroe; and several nieces and nephews, including Phyllis Dolberg of Stratford. Paul was predeceased by first wife, Jeanne Martin Laliberte; second wife, Margaret Lapcsik Laliberte; his grandson, Timothy Alan Tripoli; and his sister, Alma Merry. Friends are invited to join his family in celebrating a Mass in his memory on Saturday (May 12th) at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. A private burial will be held in Lawncroft Cemetery.
