James "Pepsi" Chambers, 81, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Paris, died at 5:04 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 at his home. James was born March 1, 1935 in Paris to Roland William and Mattie May McElyea Chambers.

He married Sarah Jane Pilkington on May 6, 1955 in Paris. Mr. Chambers was a project supervisor for the Dallas Independent School District for 23 years prior to his retirement.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sarah Chambers of Mount Pleasant, three children, Jimmy Chambers and wife, Judy of Mount Pleasant, Beverly Jane Black and husband, Randy of Sachse, Texas and Mark Roland Chambers and wife, Tamara of Mount Pleasant, six grandchildren, Jeffrey Chambers and wife, Stefanie, Justin Chambers and wife, Stephanie, all of Mount Pleasant, Jordan Chambers and wife, Angela of Arlington, Texas, Johnathan Chambers of Mount Pleasant, Brian Black and wife, Marithe of Plano, Texas and Brandy Black of Farmersville, Texas, four great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Lexi, Brylee and Jaxon, two brothers, Robert and Carl Chambers, one sister, Margie Couch and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Mandred Chambers, Beulah Mae Adams and J.D. Chambers.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Patrick Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery.
