Vincent S. Lombard, 85, of Lakeland, died Sunday at home. Born in Solvay, he was a 1938 graduate of Solvay High School. He was an Army veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific. He was an insurance agent for 40 years and co-owner of Cer-lo's Restaurant, in Lakeland. He was a charter member of Lakeside Fire Department, was chief from 1959-1974, and was also past-president. He was a former commissioner for the Lakeside Fire District. He was a past-president of the Onondaga County Firemen's Association, and a member of Onondaga County and New York State firefighters' and fire chiefs' associations. He was a communicant and lector at Our Lady of Peace Church, member of Geddes Veterans of WWII, the Stanley B. Pennock Post VFW, and the Loyal Order of Moose. Mr. Lombard was also a retired Onondaga County employee. Survivors: his wife of 55 years, Rosemary A. Lorini Lombard; two daughters, Carole A. Lombard and Pamela A. Lees both of Liverpool; a son, Ronald V. Lombard of Brewerton; a sister, Frances Piro of Florida; two brothers, Nicholas Lombard of Florida and Edmund Lombard of Syracuse; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services: 8:45 a.m. Friday at Tindall Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 1921 W. Genesee St. Contributions: Lakeside Fire Department.
