Frances Kennedy Royal Beck, 98, a life long resident of Thomasville, passed away June 13, 2016 in Wesley Long Medical Center. Mrs. Beck was born to Benjamin Neese and Nova Kennedy Royal on August 13, 1917 in Davidson County. She worked as a dental assistant for many years. She married Lawrence Albert Beck in 1937. Mrs. Beck was a member of First Baptist Church in Thomasville for over 50 years, where she served as secretary for the Mary Abbott Sunday School Class. She also did lots of volunteer work after she retired, helping at various nursing homes, and visiting the church shut-ins. Mrs. Beck also enjoyed drawing and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years; one daughter, Priscilla Ruth Beck Cloniger; two brothers, Claude Royal and Weldon Royal; and one sister, Ruth Royal Ward. Mrs. Beck is survived by one daughter, Dianne Beck Loftin of Greensboro; one son-in-law, Steve Cloniger of Davidson; four grandchildren, Anne Loftin of Greensboro, Eric Loftin and wife Wendy of Salisbury, Catherine Cloniger Koontz and husband Kristopher of Lexington, David Cloniger and wife Margo of Nashville, TN; ten great-grandchildren, Sara, Jonathan, Grace, Catherine, Samuel, Reuben, Meridian, Joshua, Simon, and Alice. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM in First Baptist Church in Thomasville with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating. Interment will follow the service in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
