Funeral services celebrating the life of Glenn R. Farnsley, 79, Jeffersonville, with full military honors will be Friday June 17, at the New Beginnings Community Church, 104 Wooded Valley Way, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He passed away Monday, June 13, 2016, at Baptist East Hospital.
He was born in Elizabeth, and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service and also retired as the Veterans Representative for the State of Indiana after 25 years of service. Glenn was a member of the Elks Lodge, the V.F.W. and Wooded View Golf Course. He attended DePauw Memorial United Methodist Church for years and was currently a member of the New Beginnings Community Church in New Albany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noble and Ethel Farnsley; two brothers, Dale and Gary Farnsley; and two sisters, Dean Walts and Jane Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Donna J. Farnsley; four stepsons, Rick Head (Melissa), Greg Head, Jeff Head (Susan), and Tim Head; two sisters, June Blackman and Janice Farnsley; seven step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville, 1119 E. Market St., New Albany from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to noon Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Beginnings Community Church.
