Eddie was born December 7, 1936 in Yancey County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life.
He was a faithful member and deacon of Newbridge Baptist Church. However, Eddie felt his greatest accomplishment was being a Dad and Godly influence to his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mabel Jamerson Hensley; sisters, Peggy Capps and Johnnie Hensley.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Lois Piehl Hensley; sons, Jeffrey Hensley and wife Danielle of Cary, Aaron Hensley and wife Kristin of Atlanta, GA; sister, Elizabeth Hensley of Weaverville.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 17, 2016, in Newbridge Baptist Church, 199 Elkwood Ave., Asheville, with Reverends Clark Henderson and Lee Roy Denton officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. (Edited by Jeff Lovelace.)
