The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. Msgr. James Feely will officiate with burial in the parish cemetery where military graveside rites will be accorded.
He was born March 29, 1917 in Two Rivers, son of the late Louis and Hattie Lundt Kumbalek. He married Marcella Baugniet, November 22, 1941, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. He was employed as a truck driver and also worked with the Hamman and Kasper construction companies. He operated the Kumbalek Tavern with his wife for 24 years. Mr. Kumbalek served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the Catholic Knights, the Knights of Columbus Council 4807, the Mishicot V.F.W. Post No. 7753, the Military Order of Cotties, and the Two Rivers American Legion.
He is survived by his wife and two brothers, Ernest and Norbert Kumbalek, both of Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
Friends may call at the Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. There will be a combined prayer service with the Knights of Columbus at 7:30 p.m.
