Calvin C. Long, age 79, of Newark, DE, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ his Savior Monday, June 13, 2016. Calvin was a faithful member of Love of Christ Church where he served as an usher and helped out as much as possible wherever he could. He enjoyed meeting his friends and working out at the UAW gym. Calvin looked forward to cruises, eating out, and being a family man who cherished all the time he spent making memories with them.
Calvin is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dolores; 3 sons: Steve Long and wife Meg, Mike Long, and Frank Long and wife Kim; daughter, Dell Marshall and husband Norman; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren; brother, Orville Long, Jr.; He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Margaret Long; brother, Richard Long; and sisters, Ada Hudson and Sue McCabe.
A visitation will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016, from 11 AM – 12:30 PM at Love of Christ Church, 2157 Bear Corbitt Rd., Bear, DE 19701 followed by a service in celebration of Calvin’s life at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park. The family suggests either flowers or donations to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Center 2nd Fl, Newark, DE 19711
