Sweetwater Rites for N. C. Davis

Sweetwater - Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday for N. C. Davis, 78, retired farmer and father of Air Force General W. Austin Davis.

He died at 2 p.m. Tuesday at his home here following an illness of about two years.

Services will be in the Fundamental Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond W. Dunn, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Patterson Funeral Home.

Mr. Davis was born Dec. 18, 1887 in Mississippi. He married Della Mae Moore on Jan. 29, 1908 in Wood County, Texas. He had lived in the Sweetwater area since 1918.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. A. L. Woodfin of Sweetwater; the son, Maj. Gen. Austin Davis, stationed at the Pentagon in Washington, D. C.; one brother, Byron of Yantis; one sister, Mrs. Mae Swatsell of Yantis; and three grandchildren.
