Services for John M. Baxter, 80, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Evans-Brown Mortuary Chapel in Lake Elsinore. He died Thursday of a heart attack at his home in Lake Elsinore.
Burial will be in Elsinore Valley Cemetery in Lake Elsinore.
Mr. Baxter, who was born in Sayre, Okla., lived in the Lake Elsinore area for 48 years. He was a self-employed carpenter for 35 years. He was a member and deacon of Lake Elsinore Baptist Church.
Mr. Baxter is survived by his wife, Nellie K.; a son, Daniel M. of Sun City; a daughter, Conna M. Monk of Sun City; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Della Jackson, Anna Rodriguez, Nora Barnett, Edith England and Lizzie Lou Bridges, all of Texas; and two brothers, Leo of Texas and Dee of Kansas.
