She was born in Franklin County to the late Charles Edward and Waldene Cotton Bryant. She was a member at Tyrone Baptist Church and worked as a machine operator at YH America in Versailles.
Joy is survived by one son, Joshua Kelly Thompson, of Lawrenceburg; three sisters, Janice Bryant, Frankfort, Lisa (Gary) Bryant Cole, Lawrenceburg, and Vicki Marlene (Mike) Cummins, Frankfort; 7 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Smoke.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffery Neal Shouse.
Burial will be in Lawrenceburg Cemetery, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky
