PORTLAND--Mrs. Madge D. Beard, 81, member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, died Thursday at the Jay County Hospital. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at William-Spencer Funeral Home, with burial in the Pennville IOOF Cemetery.
She was also a member of the Geneva Eastern Star, Portland Friendship White Shrine 31 and the Jay County Historical Society.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Audrey Kennedy and Mrs. Wilbert Smith, Portland; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Allie L. Roof, Pennville.
Friends may call at the mortuary this afternoon and evening.
