Marvin Cole, 63 of Redfield passed away on June 10, 2016 after a 3 year battle with ALS, surrounded by his family.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday at the church. The family would like everyone to wear Iowa Hawkeye clothing or Iowa Hawkeye colors to the celebration of life.

Marvin was born on September 19, 1952 to Ralph and Waneta Cole. Marvin was raised on the east side of Des Moines and was a 1970 graduate of Tech High School.

He married Cindy Cole on July 31, 1993.

Marvin was a huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Marvin spent many years coaching little league baseball, softball, and basketball teams - taking many of them to championship titles.

He enjoyed farming, raising horses, riding his Harley, and watching his grandchildren play sports.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy; parents; children, Jason Cole, Jake (Monica) Cole, Jamie (Ty) Eitel; brother, Rick Cole; grandchildren, Katie, Miranda, Austin, Alison, Bryce, Garrett, Cole, Cash and great grandchild, Nevaeh.

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Tanya Engstrom and Jan Cole.
