Travis Knight, 81, of Princeton, Iowa, died Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Crestridge Care Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Travis was born October 10, 1934, in Georgia, to James R. and Lois (Ashley) Knight.

While working in DeWitt, Travis met and married Joyce Lowe in 1953. The couple raised three sons and twin daughters.

He learned auto body repair from his father-in-law, Ray Lowe, and eventually bought DeWitt Auto Body from Ray and Ida Lowe.

He later married Peggy (Hunter/Warling) Knight in 1988.

Travis was a member of DeWitt United Methodist Church where he and Joyce were very active as youth counselors. He was involved in Boy Scouts, and was a member of the Isaac Walton League.

In retirement he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his beloved dogs, Haley and Minnie. He was also a past member of the LeClaire Baptist Church.

Travis is survived by his wife, Peggy of Princeton; children David of Davenport, Richard (Lindy) of Anaheim, CA, Joel (Joni) of Howe, TX, Carla Sagers (Troy Koontz) of Lost Nation, and Carol (Allen) Kunde of DeWitt; grandchildren, Melissa (Miller) Davis, Nathain, Monica, and Stephen Sagers, and Chelsea Kunde; 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, two brothers, two sisters, and a granddaughter, Ashley Miller.

A private family service will be held.
