Randolph Blan Sandlin was married to Lydia Whisonant. Lydia was born in York County, South Carolina and came to Alabama. She was born on June 6, 1815 and died on February 22, 1887. She and Randolph are buried side by side in Herring Cemetery. Randolph came to Morgan County, Alabama at an early age. His family was among the first settlers of the Massey, Crowdabout area of the County. In A.G. Copelands "Rememberances of Morgan County" he states the following: "Ran Sandlin was one of the best citizens and had an excellent wife. They both lived to a good old age and were much respected for their virtues. He was speaking of those who lived in the Massey, Crowabout Communities.
