both buried in Emmert cemetery, Lee Co., IL.

Leonard T. Bowers, 81, formerly of 112 E. Chamberlin,
died in Continental Manor Nursing Home this morning following an extended illness.
He was born May 8, 1894 in Ogle County, the son of
Tobias and Minnie (Jourdan) Bowers.
He married Esther Brink, Feb. 20, 1937
in Dixon.
He was employed as a maintenance man at
Freeman Shoe factory for 17 years
until his retirement in 1967. He was also a veteran
of WW1 and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
His wife and two brothers preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Jeanne)
Baker, Polo; a stepson, Richard Gardner, Sterling;
a brother, Frank, Chicago; four sisters, Mrs. Lena
Brindle, Mrs. Maude Eisenberg, Mrs. Ruth Floto, all
of Dixon, and Mrs. Viola Buzzard, Oregon; four grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
Services will be 1:30 p.m.,Monday in Preston-Schilling Funeral Home; Rev. Robert W. Wurtz, assistant pastor
of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and Rev. Richard Sedberg, pastor, Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Morris,
officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
