Mrs. Fred (Christine) Kortbein Sr., 89, of The Kewaunee Health Care Center,
died Friday evening, July 12, at St. Mary Hospital, Kewaunee.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Mishicot. The Rev. Joel Sauer will officiate and burial will be in
Mishicot Public Cemetery.
Mrs. Kortbein was born Jan. 30, 1896, in Kewaunee County, Town of Carlton,
daughter of the late Robert and Mary Propp Werth. She was married to Fred
Kortbein, May 8, 1917, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ellisville. He preceded
her in death May 7, 1966. They farmed at Kewaunee and ran a dairy and milk
route until moving to Mishicot in 1954.
Survivors include three sons, Ludwig of rural Mishicot, Roland of Wabeno and
Fred Jr. Of (sic) Kewaunee; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her hsuband, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock
this Monday afternoon and Tuesday at the church from noon until the time of
services.
