Mr. Willie I. "Deen" Buchanan, 85, of Staley passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015 at Randolph Hospital.

Deen was proud of his service to our country in US Navy. He was retired from Burlington Industries, Goodyear in Asheboro and Randolph County Schools and worked throughout his life as a farmer on the family farm. Deen will be remembered as a Christian man who was a wonderful, loving, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at The Loflin Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Mark Wilburn and Aaron Cox; burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park with Military Honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty.

Deen is the son of the late Rufus Harrison and Pearl Ross Buchanan and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie Rae Rhodes Buchanan; one sister, Nell Hensley; three brothers, Clyde, Barney and Carl Buchanan.
