Don E. Morgan, 83, of Beatrice, died Saturday morning, June 11, 2016 at his residence. He was born on April 7, 1933 at Kimball, NE and attended school in Kimball.

He moved to Beatrice around 1970 and was married to Mary Lorenz on July 10, 1981 at the Beatrice Court House. He worked with clients at B.S.D.C., was an assembler, truck driver and worked in the warehouse at Midwest Livestock and then at Valentino’s as a dishwasher. He also was a babysitter for his friends.

He was a member of the Wymore Church of Christ and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and watching wrestling and movies.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Morgan of Beatrice; foster-son, Tony Layman, Jr. of Beatrice; two brothers, Kenny Morgan and wife Marlene of Kimball and Bob Morgan and wife Mary Kay of South Dakota; niece, Billie Vermeer and husband Chris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary Morgan and two brothers, Jerry and Jim Morgan.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice with Clayton Lundstedt officiating.

Burial will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice.

A memorial has been established to the family’s choice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home on Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. and then one hour preceding the service on Wednesday. Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice is in charge of the arrangements.
