Eliza Gertrude Smith, 91, of Harvest, went to be with the Lord on Saturday. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband: J. Calvin Smith and two brothers: Albert Hovis, Jr. and Burton Hovis.
Survivors include her daughter: Glynda (Bruce) Thomas; grandson: John (Wanda) Thomas; greatgrandson: Troy Gray; sister: Clarice Thomas; and four sister-in-laws: Floy Smith, Jean Smith, Lula Hovis and Francis Hovis.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 14th from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church in Athens. Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dusty McLemore, Pastor Bob Pitman, and Pastor Randy Brown officiating. Private burial will be held at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Contributions may be made to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
