Dora Dean Dix Hughes, age 81, wife of the late Andrew Jack "A.J." Hughes of Misty Breeze Lane died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Tidelands Hospice House after an illness.
Mrs. Hughes was born in Galivants Ferry, a daughter of the late William Cooper and Lettie Belle Richardson Dix.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Denise Hughes.
Prior to retirement, she was employed by AVX and Ocean Lakes Campground. She was of the Baptist Faith and attended church at Ocean Lakes Campground.
Surviving are: brothers, Eddie Dix of Conway and Kirby Dix of Sevierville, TN; niece, Shannon Matthews of Murrells Inlet; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, June 17, 2016 from Hillcrest Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Kirk Lawton officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Friday at the mausoleum chapel.
