Obituary for Josie Lee Mitchell
Josie Lee Mitchell, age 90 of Jewell Ridge, Virginia went to her heavenly father on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at a local Richlands Virginia hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Jewell Ridge and was the daughter of the late, Napoleon and Florida Griffith Meadows. Josie was a fulltime Homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family. She loved to spend time reading, drawing and in her younger years, playing the guitar and singing. Josie even loved to hunt with her husband Elbert and had a cabin that sat upon a hill and overlooked the valley below, she was a true mountain woman and loved being outdoors in the mountains. She was of the holiness faith and was a lifetime resident of the area.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Elbert Doak Mitchell, and three brothers, Howard Avery Meadows, Oliver Meadows and Herman Meadows.
