Entered June 5, 2016 into eternal rest with the Savior. He believed what Jesus said: John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me".

Richard grew up in the Bay Area and was the son of Charles and Gertrude Ahern. He leaves behind his daughter Simone Potter and husband Curtis and granddaughters Jennifer, Jessica, and Meagan and great-grandsons Jason and Carter, his grandson David Crosby and wife Fawn, and great-grandchildren Erin and Scotty, his daughter-in-law Donna Matthew and husband Joe, and granddaughters Corrine and Molly, his brother-in-law Pat Moore and many nieces and nephews in Oregon.

He was a member of Bridges Community Church for the last 40 years and was involved in several ministries there. He retired from Pacific Bell. He lived his life with love for other people, and believed in Love and Forgiveness. Besides that, he loved a good party.
In his recreational time, he loved playing racquet ball, tennis, and spending time with his grandchildren. We prefer that you remember him with a good deed for someone who needs encouragement or help
