John Abercrombie Jr, was born 22 Dec 1822 (sic, this appears to be incorrect as he had a brother, Clemeth, born in July 1822. However, this is the date recorded in the bible - see below.) and died 30 Sept 1864 in Richmond VA during the Civil War. He and his family moved to Lake City FL and he went to civil war from there. His wife, Catherine Peck, died of yellow fever and all but one of his children came back to Lumpkin County GA and was raised by Joseph Abercrombie, another son of John SR.
