John was a graduate of Vista High School Class of 1968. He was a member of the swim team, a diver, during his junior and senior years. But his friends knew that John's real talents were musical. He was a superbly gifted pianist, who spent countless hours teaching his students and serving as an accompanist for singers, choirs and various churches. He was a kind and loving man, revered by many who knew him. He died one late evening doing what he loved to do - practicing at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Carlsbad. Members of the church staff found his body the next morning.
