Also surviving is Tom and Faye's daughter, Donna (Tony) Garcia, granddaughters Melissa (Cory) Webb, and Katie (Andrew) Showell, great grandchildren Ryan and Elly, and sister Joan (Bug) Paschal.
Tom and Faye had two children, Anne and Randy who preceded him in death.
Tom was a career educator, coach and athletic director. He coached in Center, Athens, Brownsboro, Raymondville, Donna, Stephen F. Austin State University, and Pasadena. While coaching he served on the Board of Directors of Texas High School Coaches Association and co-founded the Rio Grande Valley Coaches Association, serving as President. Upon retirement, Tom and Faye made Elkins Lake their home where he served on the Board of Directors of Elkins Lake, President of the Men's Golf Association, and member of the First United Methodist Church. Tom was an avid golfer and organized many golf trips with friends and played cards as often as he could. He was a devout SFA Lumberjack and enjoyed wearing his purple to Huntsville events. Tom adored his daughter and granddaughters and enjoyed telling people that he was now "great" once the great grandchildren were born.
The memorial service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church of Huntsville. Reverend Mark Pickett will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of First United Methodist Church at 1016 Sam Houston Avenue, Huntsville, TX 77320.
