Wilma L. Smith, 96, of Worthington passed away 9:30 P. M., Monday, February 15, 2010, at the residence of her son. She was born Nov. 13, 1913, in Illinois, to S. Kenneth & Bessie N. (Shelburn) Phillips. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at I. G. A. in Worthington, she attended the Worthington Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Jerry (Betty) Smith, Worthington; granddaughter, Alta (Michael) Sims, Martinsville; 3 step-grandchildren, Tammy (George) O'Neill, Valparaiso; Deanna (Dennis) Wozniak, Downingtown, PA; J. Patrick (Jackie) Ferch, Jeffersonville; 8 step-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Jo (Charles) Smith, Mooresville; Geraldine "Gerri" Mitchell, Worthington. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Marion Smith, Sept. 7, 1970; 2 sisters, Lelah Gee and Gretchen Pershing; 1 brother Wilson Phillips. Funeral service Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington, 1:00 P. M. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, with Rev. Bill Beckelheimer officiating. Friends may call at Welch & Cornett 11:00 A. M. Thursday until time of service. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
