Loyd Gerald Smith, 85, of Worthington passed away at 5:10 A. M. Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Glenburn Home in Linton. Gerald was born April 10, 1925 in Greene County, to Willis J. & Glenna (Ward) Smith. Gerald was a retired farmer, member of Linton Christian Church. He was an Army veteran of WW II. He is survived by one brother, James E. (Nancy) Smith, Indianapolis; sister-in-law, Geraldine Smith, Worthington; 4 nieces, Kathryn Cartheuser, Susan Madden, Linda Speight & Lori West; 1 nephew, Michael Smith. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eva L. "Shorty" (Craig) Smith, Feb. 22, 2005; twin brother, Harold Smith. Funeral service, Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington 1:00 P. M. Wednesday, with Warren Shake officiating. Friends may call at Welch & Cornett after 11:00 Wednesday until time of service. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
