George W Litz, 40, widely known in Southern West Virginia as a lumber man, died in a hospital at Gastonia, N C, Thursday.
Mr Litz was fatally injured in a motor collision at Mortimer, N C, a week ago, and was taken to the Gastonia hospital immediately after the accident. Physicians and surgeons thought they could save his life, but their efforts failed.
Mr Litz was assistant to the President of the Ritter Lumber Co, and had his headquarters in Columbus.
He is survived by his wife and one child and has a number of more distant relatives in this state. He was popular in fraternal circles, being a Elk and a Mason.
The body was taken to Tazewell, Va, and funeral services will be held there Sunday.
