Tuff married Beatrice "Beatie" Morningstar Oct. 29, 1949. She passed away Oct. 17, 2005.
He was a lifelong resident of Shelby and was employed by Rooks Transfer as a truck driver for many years. He also worked at Beckman Brothers before his retirement and drove school bus for 10 years. Tuffy was an avid Detroit Tigers and Lions fan, standing by them through winning and losing seasons.
Mr. Beckman is survived by his son, Larry (Sandy) Beckman of New Era; sister, Marguerite "Sis" Reames of Shelby; sister-inlaw, Dorothy Wiswell of Shelby; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Ernol, Floyd, Bob, Lawrence and Jesse.
Visitation is Saturday Aug. 10, 9-11 a.m. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Oceana County Medical Care Facility Resident's Christmas Fund in Tuffy's memory.
A very heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart, his home for the last couple years. Tuffy loved his "girls."
