Mrs. Irene Brewer, age 83, of Scranton and formerly of Forrest City, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at her daughter's home in Scranton. Mrs. Brewer was born April 10, 1925, in Missouri, the daughter of John Harper Liles and Sophie Chandler Liles. She lived in Forrest City until moving in 2006. She was a retired assembly group leader for Sanyo Manufacturing and was a member of the Spadra Baptist Church in Clarksville. Mrs. Brewer married Onis D. Brewer in 1944, and he preceded her in death in 1986. She is survived by three daughters, Evelyn Stafford of Heltonville, Ind.., Ima Jean Sullivan of Bedford, Ind. and Patsy Ann Brown of Scranton; one son Onis "Bo" G. Brewer of Forrest City; three sisters, Faye Walls of Bloomington, Ind., Clara Mae Nunery of Camden, Tenn. and Lena F. Liles of Solsberry, Ind.; two brothers, J.T. Liles of Martinsville, Ind. and John "Jr." Liles of Solsberry, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Brewer were held on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Burial followed in Forrest Park Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to the Spadra Baptist Church, P.O. Box 242, Clarksville, AR 72830.
