Her mother died in 1874 and her father remarried in 1877.

At the time of the 1880 census her family was living at Detroit, Michigan. Her father was age 45, a watchman, with his second wife Agnes 42, his children from his previous marriage William 13, Elizabeth 11, Charles 9, Gordon 7 and David 5, as well as one child from his second marriage Altha 1.

Her step-mother Agnes died that same year. Her father and his children continued to live at Detroit for the next several years.

In 1887 she married Frank Phillips, a Stationary Engineer, at Detroit. They had four children, one son and three daughters.

Woman Dies At Residence
Mrs. Elizabeth Phillips, 86, of 463 Elliott west, died at her residence Monday after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Port Elgin, Ont. and lived in Windsor for 68 years. She was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and was a former president of the Ladies' Aid.
Her husband, Frank, died in 1944.
She is survived by one son, John F., of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. J. E. Richardson (Charlotte), Detroit, and Mrs. Gordon H. Fuller (Dorothy), of Windsor. Surviving are three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be from Morris Windsor Chapel, 68 Giles east, Thursday at 1:30 p.m., Rev. William Lawson officiating.
Burial will be in Windsor Grove Cemetery.
