Whitney James, Sr. passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the age of 75.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Chapel in Vidrine.
Entombment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lake Charles. Father Alphonse Thainese will officiate.
Whitney is survived by three sons, Daniel James of Mamou, LA, Whitney James, Jr. and wife Sherada of Eunice, LA, and Patrick James and wife Demetria of Katy, TX; one daughter, Lisa Warren of Cedar Hill, TX; three brothers, Oswald James of Lake Charles, Harold James of Houston, TX, and Perry Lee James of Houston, TX; five sisters, Gertrude Biegas of Opelousas, Orelia Colligan of Beaumont, TX, Maxie Plummer of Houston, TX, Delores Guillory of Houston, TX, and Gloria Richard of Orange, TX; nineteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren.
Whitney was preceded in death by his parents, Willie James and Louise (Guilbeaux) James; his wife, Annie (JohnWell) James; three brothers, Roy James, Ralph James, and Renee James.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015, at Quirk & Son Funeral Home from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM by Deacon Chuck Ortego. The funeral home will reopen on Saturday for visitation until time of service.
Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
