She was educated in the public schools of Kershaw County, South Carolina. She retired from the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. Mrs. Gibson was a faithful member of Stedfast Christian Center for more than 23 years.
Mrs. Gibson leaves behind six children: Emma Lee Willingham, Cathy Gibson, Jennifer Gibson, Timothy (Patricia) Gibson, Tywana Gibson and Koskie (LaKisha) Gibson, all of Columbia, South Carolina; eight grandchildren: Rodale Davis, Danielle Willingham, Dimetria (Stanley) Willingham-Aye, Christopher Corbett, Timothy Gibson, Jr., Keziah Gibson, Caleb Gibson and Jacob Gibson; six great-grandchildren: Akia Davis, LaDiamond Willingham, Chyna Willingham, Destine Belton, Kayon Corbett and Stanley Aye, Jr. She is also survived by her siblings: Azaree Gibson of Georgia, John Davis, Isabelle Martin, Beatrice (John) Kearse, Carrie McCants, Betty (William) Tucker, all of Columbia, South Carolina, and Lillie (David) Bell, Gary (Estelle) Davis and Wallace (Angela) Davis, all of Blythewood, South Carolina; two sisters-in law: Gladys and Nora Gibson of Ridgeway, South Carolina; and many other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will her dearly.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 1 PM at Bostick Tompkins Funeral Home, Columbia, SC. Interment immediately following funeral service at Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery, Ridgeway, SC. Bostick - Myers Funeral Home assisted the family.
