This is Samuel Greenville Cobb, who was an early resident of Aurora, Nevada. Mr. Cobb and family resided at Aurora from at least as early as 1864 (Esmeralda (now Mineral) County Tax Roll). He remained at Aurora until some time after the 1880 Census. He first registered to vote in Copperopolis in 1892 and is not found on the voter registration rolls in California before that time. He was enumerated there in the 1900 census.

The Walker Lake Bulletin (Hawthorne, NV) of February 21, 1902 wrote this: S. G. Cobb, an old resident of Aurora, and well-known in this section, died at Copperopolis, Cal., on the 6th Inst. at the age of 75 years.

His sister, Mary Catherine Booker (first wife of Simeon Booker), is buried in the Aurora Cemetery although her gravestone was stolen after author Nell Murbarger managed to photograph it in the early 1950s. (See Aurora, Nevada's Silent City on the Hill; Silver, 2011)

Their parents were Samuel Cobb, and Mary (Millay) Cobb, both buried in Bowdoinham Village Cemetery, Maine.
