Billy Jack Jarvis, 81, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Mifflin Care Center in Mansfield. Born September 5, 1934 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, he was the son of Jess and Maude (Biggs) Jarvis.

An area resident most of his life, he was a brave Christian. He retired from Don Mowry Flexo, Inc. as a welder and also worked in the construction field and as a gardener. He proudly served his country during World War II with the United States National Guard and loved to create wood carvings.

He is survived by two daughters, Sheila Jarvis of Mansfield and Vicki Orweiler of California; two step daughters, Deborah Parlett of Mansfield and Rhonda Patrick of Tennessee; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Burt Jarvis of Texas and Glenn Jarvis of Mansfield; and three sisters, Doris Blevins of Indiana, Leola Carrol of Hayesville and Ruth Henderson of Arizona.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Callie (Nickell) Jarvis; an infant daughter, Regina; three brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home on Monday.

I wanted to let you know his daughter, Vickie Lynn Jarvis Orewiler preceded him in death. He is mentioned along with his wife, Callie, in Vicke's obit. I thought maybe you could add a notation in the obit since it states she survived him.
