Son of Henry Klinefelter and Roxanna Jarvis. First marriage 2 Aug 1903, Berrien Co., MI, to Clara Anderman, (born about 1883 in Illinois, to German-born parents). Second marriage to Ida (Blakely) {Blaney} Gray, 29 June 1940, Lake Co., IN.

1910 Census: children Josephine, 5, Floyd Jr., 4, and Thyra, 2. Mother Roxanna, 73, born NY, widowed, mother of 9 children 7 living, and step-sister Edith Maxwell, 40, single, are also in the household.

1920 Census shows 3 more children: Maxine, 9, George, 5, Charlotte R., 5 months.

1930 Census, Charlotte R. is recorded as Ruth C.; two additional children are Clarence R., 8, and Laverne (female), 4.

1940 Census, Floyd is widowed, and divorced daughter Maxine Manhart and grandson Donald Manhart, 9, are in household.

(On 1 July 1872 in Lake Co., IN, Henry Kleinfelder and Christiana Kleinfelder were married. Unknown if this might be the same Henry and Christina.)

Edith May Maxwell, born 23 Aug 1869, Lake Co., IN, died 16 March 1930, Gary, and was buried in Crown Point (cemetery not named). Her father was William, birth place unknown, mother was Roxana Jarvis, born NY. Informant was Floyd Klinefelter.

1910 Census, Crown Point, Lake, IN, Edith was a sister-in-law, living with Benjamin F. Hayes, 51, born IA, wife Nettie L., 51, born IL. (Nettie had no children.)

Roxanna Kleinfelter's obit (Lake County Times, 12 Nov 1917) states she was 74, and had spent most of her life in Crown Point; was survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. B. F. Hayes, Mrs. LaFaye Wilke and Miss Edith Maxwell, and 1 son Floyd Kleinfelter. Further notice was on the 14th; states she was 79, and was buried in the Crown Point cemetery. (Note: although obit states 3 daughters and 1 son survived, apparently some of the other children were still living.)
