Loretta Dean Shaddox, age 82, of Harrison, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014, at
Hillcrest Home in Harrison. She was born October 25, 1932, in Leslie, Arkansas, to Andrew
Jackson and Artie Alice (Gillen) Crase. Along with her parents, Loretta was preceded in
death by her son-in-law, Jerry Kuykendall.
Loretta was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Harrison. She was a 1950
graduate of Valley Springs High School. She lived 12 years in Little Rock, Arkansas. She
married Robert Shaddox May 20, 1998, in Little Rock. She was a seamstress, homemaker, and
an excellent cook with many published recipes. Loretta was a wonderful, selfless
Christian woman. She loved gardening and flowers, hiking and Southern Gospel music. She
was loved and will be dearly missed by many.
Mrs. Shaddox is survived by her husband, Reverend Robert Shaddox, of the home; her son
and daughter-in-law, Paul and Carol Bowman, of Alma, Arkansas; her daughters and
son-in-law, Patsy Kuykendall, of Lead Hill, and Mary and Fred Kirkpatrick of Harrison;
her step-sons and their wives, Kenton and Tammie Shaddox of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee,
Kenneth and Judy Shaddox of North Little Rock, and Klinton and Michelle Shaddox of
Bentonville; and her step-daughter, Janis Shaddox, of Arlington, Texas.
Loretta is also survived by her sister, Juanita Ruff, of North Little Rock; her brothers
and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Della Crase of Sperry, Oklahoma, Lawson and Anita Crase
of Sydney, Ohio and James and Carol Crase of Murrieta, California; nine grandchildren;
seventeen great-grandchildren; her half-brother, Waymon Crase of Jacksonville, Florida;
and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be 10-11:00 AM, Saturday, December 27, 2014 at First Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 27, 2014, at First Baptist Church,
Harrison, with Bro. Rob Davis officiating.
Interment will be in Bellefonte Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Keith Kuykendall, Nathan Kuykendall, Chet Payne, J. R. Payne, Greg
Kirkpatrick and Fred Kirkpatrick.
Honorary pallbearers are Paul Bowman, Ken Shaddox, Klint Shaddox, Kent Shaddox, Kevin
Kuykendall, Michael Stephens, Wendell Stephens, Amanda Chitsey, Kay Hodnett and Garrett
Kirkpatrick.
