Nancy was the daughter of Thomas Isbell and Phoebe (Hickman?). She married Elliott Hickman, son of Edwin Hickman and Patey-Patsy Anne Isbell. After Elliott's death in 1850 in Warren Co., Kentucky, Nancy came with some of her children to join other children already in Lawrence Co., Missouri.

In 1855, Nancy received a warrant for 80 acres of land in Dallas Co., Missouri which she assigned to Moses Callison.
Patentees: Moses Callison & Nancy Hickman.
Warrantee: Elliott Hickman, War of 1812.
Script Warrant Act of 1850.

In 1857, Nancy purchased 40 acres in Lawrence Co., Missouri: NWNW Section23 Township28N Range27W, about 2 miles northwest of Mt. Vernon.

In 1859, Nancy received a warrant for 80 acres of land in Cedar Co., Missouri which she assigned to Samuel J. Firestone.
Patentees: Samuel J. Firestone & Nancy Hickman.
Warrantee: Elliott Hickman, War of 1812.
