Jay H. Dixon, 76, of Fayetteville went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born June 22, 1939 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Ernest B. and Fern E. Reamer Dixon.

He was retired from T.B. Woods where he was a machine operator.

He was also a piano tuner for over 40 years. He loved his piano tuning profession and his many faithful customers, who were also his friends.

Jay was a member of the Pond Bank Independent Church.

He loved to play music and played various musical instruments including the violin, dobro, mandolin, and guitar. Jay was a member of several gospel groups including The Country Gospel Tymers with Paul Cline, Higher Ground with Richard and Mary Fox, and Gospel Express with Dwight Munson.

Jay loved his Lord, his church, and his dog, Buddy. Music was his life.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda L. Brechbill Dixon.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 10, 2016 at 10:00 am in the Pond Bank Independent Church. The Rev. Dr. Mervil Stambaugh will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 pm in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg and at the church one hour prior to the services.
