BANFIELD, Aaron "Lorne" - 86, Tantallon, passed away after a lengthy illness Monday, May 17, 2004, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in North Sydney on July 8, 1917, he was a son of the late Aaron and Christianna (Hollett) Banfield. Lorne was a loving husband, father and friend who inspired everyone with his bravery throughout his life and illness. Lorne is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Marion, at home; Darrell (Jacqueline), Moncton, N.B.; Christine (Ainsley) Hubley, Indian Harbour; Lorna (Mike) Green, Shubenacadie; Glenn (Theresa), Elmsdale; grandchildren, Darrell, Christopher, Shane, Scott, Colleen, Michael, Jonathan, Allison, Brendon; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Cassandra, Victoria, Jacob, Alyssa, Rebecca, Tera, Jordyn; several nieces and nephews; brother, Frank (Rose), Dartmouth. Lorne was "proudly" awaiting the birth of a "New Descendant" in August (granddaughter, Colleen). He was predeceased by his son, Vernon; sister, Verna; brothers, Merle and Claude. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Margaret's Bay Baptist Church, Head of St. Margaret's Bay, Rev. Richard Moore officiating. Burial to follow in William Black Memorial Cemetery, Glen Margaret. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lorne can be made to St. Margaret's Bay Baptist Church.
