R. Donald Sharp, 90, of Lac du Flambeau passed away at the Avanti Health and Rehabilitation Center in Minocqua on July 27, 2013.He was born in Higbee, Missouri on November 17, 1922 to E Carl and Bertha (nee Ware) Sharp.
Don attended Moberly Junior College after high school and shortly after Joined the Navy in 1942. Don served in the Pacific Theater as a Chief Pharmacy Mate until 1946. Don was employed with Merck Pharmaceutical as a Sales Representative for 35 years in the Sheboygan area until retiring to the Northwoods in 1981.
Don was a lifetime member of the Elks Club. He was also involved in other organizations including the American Legion, Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, and the Mens Club of St Anthony's in Lac du Flambeau. In addition, Don was a volunteer at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale Arizona.
Don is survived by his wife Jean, children, Sherry (David) Hitztaler of highlands Ranch, CO; Michael S. Sharp of Mableton, GA and David (Julie) Sharp of Madison, WI.
four grandchildren Stephanie (Jani) Hitztaler-Onninen, Elizabeth (Josh) Stone, Alex and Will Sharp; three great grandchildren, Reese, Carter and Oliver.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday July 31, 2013 at 11:30 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lac du Flambeau. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Grafton, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lac du Flambeau.
